Contributors with a range of identities, orientations, and bodies read their essays from Jiz Lee’s anthology Coming Out Like a Porn Star: 50+ stories on the subject of “coming out” (or NOT!) about working in the adult industry.
Jiz Lee is the creator and editor of Coming Out Like a Porn Star. An award-winning porn performer and industry veteran, Lee’s work spans a decade of queer pornography and hardcore gonzo adult film genres. These connections helped to provide the book its diverse porno rolodex.
Stoya is an adult performer, writer, and master of avoiding pants. Her writing has been published by the Guardian, the New York Times, and the New Inquiry. She maintains a blog at GraphicDescriptions.com and recommends you refrain from Googling her at work.
Lorelei Lee has been an adult film performer since 2000 and a director since 2009. Her writing has appeared in Salon, The Rumpus, Wired, Denver Quarterly, The Los Angeles Review of Books, and elsewhere. She is a contributor to The Feminist Porn Book and the cowriter of About Cherry, distributed by IFC Films. You can find her tweeting about politics and books @MissLoreleiLee, and about naked people @XOXOLoreleiLee.
Milcah Halili Orbacedo is a writer and performer. They are obsessed with their memoir, Sisterhood, meditations on their intimate writer and pornographer friends. Follow Milcah on Twitter @milcahorbacedo.
Jesse Jackman is a writer, senior software engineer, and logorrheic dork savant who moonlights as a porn star — although he prefers the term “erotic illusionist.” He blogs about his experiences as a forty-something gay pornographic actor at JesseJackman.xxx, and is also a regular Huffington Post contributor (huffingtonpost.com/jesse-jackman). Jesse lives with his fiancé Dirk Caber, a classical musician (and fellow industry performer), in Boston, Massachusetts. Jesse will be accompanied by his husband, Dirk Caber.
